Outdoor Solutions runs the best instructor-to-student ratio in the industry — one instructor for every two shooters on the line. Our courses are built around range time, not classroom time, so you learn by doing instead of watching a PowerPoint in a class room. Every class includes three nights of lodging, all meals during your stay, and use of our gear, rifles, optics and ammo (or bring your own).
Choose the location that fits your trip: our West Texas ranch on the edge of Cap Rock Canyon, or our 52,000-acre Oklahoma ranch an hour from Tulsa.
Getting there: Southeast of Lubbock, TX, on the Spur/Guitar Ranch in Spur, Texas.
Lodging: Eight luxury cabins, each with two queen beds, a private bath, mini fridge and wet bar. Meals are prepared in our commercial kitchen and served in our large dining room. Unwind afterward in our brand-new common area, or head out to the gazebo and firepit to talk over the day.
The range: Our extra-spacious range house has 10 individual shooting bays, each with its own targets from 100 to 1,000 yards in 100-yard increments, plus additional targets at 1,200, 1,500 yards and a full mile.
Hunting courses: Day two takes you into Cap Rock Canyon, where we set up multiple stations that replicate real hunting scenarios — shooting from tripods, prone off your backpack, and working from natural terrain and deadfall.
Getting there: One hour northwest of Tulsa International Airport, on the 52,000-acre Cross Bell Ranch.
Lodging: Brand-new facilities with 20 bedrooms, each with two queen beds and a private bath, plus a large common area, new commercial kitchen and dining room.
The range: Our oversized range house has nine individual bays, each with its own bay door and targets from 100 to 1,000 yards in 100-yard increments, plus additional targets at 1,200, 1,500 yards and a full mile. The range house also includes a vault for secure firearm storage.
Hunting courses: Five hunting courses cover wide-open prairies, rolling terrain, deep draws, pockets of hardwoods and more than 300 watersheds — simulating nearly any hunting scenario you're likely to encounter.
Full home cooked meals are prepared and served by our staff. Drinks are also provided while on the range. We promise you will not leave hungry.
Since our long range shooting classes are geared towards hunters, we use hunting gear from our manufacturing partners. Part of our focus - and specifically pertaining to our Level I and Hunter Prep classes - is using all factory gear including: Rifles from, Springfield Armory, Snowy Mountain Rifles, AllTerra Arms, Benelli USA, West Texas Ordnance, and Seekins Precision, ammo from Federal Premium Ammunition and high-quality optics from Zeiss Hunting.
Students should plan on arriving to the lodge around 2pm, this will give you time to check in to your room and prepare for the curriculum starting at 3pm. We will break at 6pm for dinner then complete the review after dinner. Please keep in mind this is your only formal class room time. We believe in keeping you on the range, learning from doing and not from lecturing.
